Conference Paper: DEST 2008

It was around late 2007 when we decided to narrow down the broad nature of the research we were conducting and really concentrate on making a specific contribution. It was then that I decided to forego looking at process activities so to speak and to focus solely on resource based process non-conformance.

By narrowing down the focus of the research, we could really concentrate on the specific issues facing non-conformance detection from a very specific point of view which also made it significantly easier to explain some of the (at times) complicated concepts related to our methodology.

Resources are easier to monitor and observe for data collection than the process activities because they are tangible and usually quantifiable yet they still beg the same set of issues and challenges to solve.

So with this in mind we made the foray into resource based non-conformance detection and began mathematically formalizing an approach which resulted in the publication of this paper.
